Il s’agit d’un enregistrement original de la Hatikva, en lien, réalisé par un reporter anglais que l’on entend dans le document, lors de la libération par les Anglais, du camp de Bergen Belsen, en mai 1945.

Le vendredi, un office de shabbat a alors été improvisé dans le camp par les anglais, et aussi pour et par les juifs survivants, qui étaient à bout de force. C’était, après 6 ans de guerre et plus de 10 ans de persécutions, la première fois que ça se produisait. Se sachant enregistrés, les prisonniers juifs ont rassemblé les forces qui leur restaient et ont chanté Hatikva. Comme vous pouvez l’entendre, ils ont chanté la version d’origine écrite par Naftali Imber.

A rare recording of the "Hatikva" from 61 years ago. It was recorded by a British reporter in May 1945 in Bergen-Belsen when the British army liberated the few thousand survivors in the concentration camp, half of which were Jewish, most of them were at the extremes of their strength. The British priest organized prayers for Kabbalat Shabbat for the Jews, it was the first time after 6 years of war and after more than 10 years of persecution.

With a lot of effort the Jews organized themselves and knowing they were recorded and sang " Hatikva". As you can hear they sang the original version exactly as it was written by Naftali Imber.
